“Vases and Valentines” Spring Exhibit
Our latest exhibit at the Zimmerman house for spring is “Vases and Valentines!”
- This exhibit will be available for January and February of 2020 only, so don’t miss out!
Tours at both the Zimmerman and Heslin House are the 3rd Saturday every month noon – 4pm from September through June 3rd. More details here.
We have a variety of Valentines from the late 1800s to the 1990s. We have cards from Germany, cards that open to create a 3-dimensional scene, tiny cards, cards with lush colors and cards the Zimmerman girls gave as children. We are pairing the Valentines with vases, and these vary from Depression Glass to Carnivale Glass to pottery from Roseville, Hull and van Briggle. This is the first time we’ve pulled the vases in the collection into an exhibit and many of these have rarely been out of storage.
In addition we still have the exhibit with Andrew’s Trunk – Isobel Zimmerman was born 120 years ago this July, and we are celebrating her life through photos, text, and more. We’ll explore the contents of a traveling trunk found in the house, which belonged to Isobel’s uncle, Andrew McCall.
