About Us

ECHO – East County Historical Organization

Under the inspiration and leadership of Ruth Dulin of Fairview, OR, a group of interested people from Fairview and the surrounding areas were brought together to form of a local historical society. They decided to broaden the base of interest, which resulted in the formation of the Fairview-Rockwood-Wilkes Historical Society in 1987. This area covers approximately ten square miles in East Multnomah County, and is located between Gresham, OR, and the Columbia River. In 2014, our name changed to East County Historical Organization (ECHO) to better reflect our mission.

Mission Statement

The mission of East County Historical Organization is to preserve and stimulate an interest in the history of the Fairview, Rockwood and Wilkes areas of East Multnomah County, Oregon. Our goal is to ensure that future generations of these three areas do not lose touch with their past.
