2016 Volunteer of the Year

ECHO would not be successful without the hard work and support of our volunteers and board members. This annual award recognizes a volunteer who ha made a significant difference to our organization over the past year.

Lael Larger (Lar-jae, pictured in middle) is the 2016 recipient of this award.  Lael, who serves on our board, was instrumental in writing and advocating for the Fairview City Jail’s nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. This multi-year effort, took an enormous amount of time and research to pull together. The result was an amazing compilation of historical information, pictures, and stories regarding the jail’s life to date.

Lael is also our Heslin House Gardens lead, and while often working alone, has created an amazing botanical compliment to our museum of the same name.

We are continually inspired by her, and this year we honor and are grateful for her commitment to ECHO.

Well done, Lael!

Two other Board members were celebrated at our Annual Meeting, Dodi Davis (2016 ECHO President, pictured on left) and Twila Mysinger (2016 ECHO Treasurer, pictured on right) for their contributions to the training of ECHO’s new executive director. Without them, she would be lost. Many heartfelt thanks go to the both of them. Your patience, understanding, and willingness to share your wealth of experience is most appreciated!
